(Brookfield, Wisc, July 20, 2020): The organizers of the OFFPRICE Show have today announced that the upcoming edition of the in-person trade show scheduled for August has been cancelled, and a new virtual buying event called OFFPRICE Online will take its place this Fall.
The decision to cancel the August event in light of the COVID-19 pandemic was made after consultation with key event stakeholders and the OFFPRICE retail community. We have been carefully monitoring the ongoing State of Emergency in Nevada, and as a result we have concluded that a cancellation was necessary in order to adhere to current guidelines and safeguard the wellbeing of all attendees, show partners, third-party vendors, and staff.
Tricia Barglof, Executive Director of OFFPRICE, commented: “OFFPRICE is an order-writing show and our top priority is getting as many buyers and exhibitors back to business as safely as possible, especially in light of the impact of COVID-19. We greatly appreciate all of the support and flexibility we’ve received from our community during these turbulent times. While we’re deeply saddened to have to cancel our in-person event this Fall, we look forward to helping buyers and exhibitors rebuild their businesses through our new virtual offering: OFFPRICE Online.”
With category and style recommendations powered by AI technology, OFFPRICE Online will enable buyers to connect remotely with sellers that are the best-match for their stores. Exhibitors can create their own virtual showrooms complete with product listings, digital look books and line sheets, videos, and more. If interested in connecting, buyers can chat directly with sellers and even have private video meetings to view products and complete orders. During the virtual event this fall, several video sessions will feature select product categories, so buyers can tune-in to the sessions most relevant to their retail businesses.
OFFPRICE Online will be open for three months of buyer and exhibitor access, and will include two virtual market weeks. The first market week will be hosted September 1-3, 2020, and registration will be available soon.
In the meantime, buyers and exhibitors are also encouraged to continue business through OFFPRICE365.com, the online marketplace. Face masks, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other fashion products are posted daily to the site for immediate purchase and shipment. A complete list of exhibitors currently shipping or selling PPE can be found on the OFFPRICE COVID-19 Resources page.
