Have you ever felt like you’ve exhausted your options locally for buying fashionable, affordable merchandise for your store? Maybe you’re heading to your first OFFPRICE Show this February to find new sellers or styles not available in your area. When you’re shopping around, keep these key five traits of new, great exhibitors in mind.

They Hear You Out

You know your shoppers better than anyone else, and you do your best to provide the apparel, footwear, or accessories that they want and love. When you’re shopping at OFFPRICE, let your prospective new seller know what your customers like, or what common complaints may come up.

A great exhibitor will problem-solve and help you find merchandise that’s the best fit for your audience, and offer their honest opinion. If they offer similar products to what you’re looking for, they may even be able to adjust some aspects of the garment to meet your needs.

Price Points Match Your Customers’ Expectations

At OFFPRICE, we’re (of course) all about great prices. However, depending on your location or customer demographic, seeking out the lowest price for all products isn’t always the best strategy. Maybe your shoppers appreciate rock-bottom pricing on their tees, socks, and other basic items—but are looking for a slightly higher level of product for jackets, denim, or other key pieces for their wardrobe.

When shopping OFFPRICE Show, you’ll notice a range of price points available. Consider stopping by the Boutique feature area, located in the back-left section, aisles 3100-3500, for elevated, unique merchandise, at slightly higher price points.

They Keep You In-the-Loop

From the beginning, great new sellers will communicate their order process with you, and be forthcoming with their returns and shipping policies. It’s important to ask those questions before placing your order, so you know exactly what to expect. Never place an order if you feel uncertain about the details, or if your answers from the exhibitor aren’t clear.

Ask the seller how you’ll know when your products ship, and how long they expect the merchandise will take to arrive. Unlike many other B2B trade shows, OFFPRICE merchandise tends to ship within 2-3 weeks from placing the order. Exact shipping details vary based on the seller.

Their Products Sell, Duh!

Maybe for your first order with a new exhibitor, you’ve ordered a smaller quantity to test the new brand in your store. If the product is flying off the racks, you can be assured the style, quality, and price must be the right match. Before even placing an order, you can also launch a poll on Instagram and ask your followers which colors or styles they prefer, which helps you decide what to buy.

If sales on your new item are a little sluggish, consider asking some of your loyal customers what they think of the item and take their suggestions to heart. Perhaps the style and quality are on-trend, but the price you’ve marked it is off. Consider adjusting the price to find the sweet-spot, and weigh whether or not your profits were worth the markdown.

They’re Available for Re-Order

When you’re placing orders and taking notes, ask the exhibitor which communication method works best for them: whether it’s through email, phone, or through a website inquiry. Always at least have one back-up method for communication. After all, the worst feeling is having a new hot-seller, and not being able to re-order.

The exhibitor’s showroom or office location can also affect their timeliness in getting back to you. Ask your new exhibitor what time zone they’re in, and how often they travel so you know the best time to circle back with them in the future.
